Antonio Conte has dropped Spanish international Marcos Alonso for his side’s clash against Real Madrid in the Champions League tonight, as per the club’s official Twitter account.
Alonso came under criticism from fans on the weekend, with Blues supporters blaming the player for their side conceding to Newcastle, with this possibly being one of the reasons behind Conte’s decision.
Instead, the former Juventus boss has opted to go with Italian Davide Zappacosta over the former Fiorentina star.
Conte has opted to go with Thibaut Courtois in goal, with a defence of Gary Cahill, Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen in front of the Belgian.
Tiemoue Bakayoko, N’Golo Kante and Cesc Fabregas make up the centre of midfield for Chelsea, with Zappacosta and Victor Moses on the wings.
Duo Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata have been given the role of leading the Blues’ line for this evening’s match.
