Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi has admitted his future lies away from the club after speculation that he’s been in London for transfer talks with Arsenal.
Jose Castro, chairman of the La Liga club, has been quoted on Goal as denying that was why N’Zonzi was in London, saying he was given permission to travel to see his son.
However, the player himself has since provided an update on his situation as it looks like he will be making a transfer away from Sevilla in the near future.
It remains to be seen if Arsenal can win the race for his signature, but they have reportedly shown an interest in him, as have Everton, according to the Daily Mirror.
Responding to the speculation, N’Zonzi told France Football that he had not held talks with either club, but that he did feel he would likely have to leave Sevilla after his difficulties under manager Eduardo Berizzo this season.
‘Clearly, my future is away from Sevilla,’ the 28-year-old said.
‘I’m not bitter towards him (Berizzo). I’m not here to argue with him, but his words affected me. From that point, out relationship broke down.
‘I’m not going to repeat what he said to me. But after, in public, he said that he would only count on players who shared his footballing vision. What does he mean by that?
‘A player must always adapt themselves to what the coach asks of them, and I’ve always done that. I think my situation is unfair.’
He added: ‘Sevilla could be interested in selling me. There’s always a business element to football.’

Arsenal should surely be doing all they can to land this exciting transfer due to their current shortcomings in midfield, with neither Granit Xhaka nor Aaron Ramsey impressing in that area this season.
That does seem to be on the agenda, with the Mirror also linking the Gunners with Schalke contract rebel Leon Goretzka recently.
