Tottenham are the latest club to register their interest in Real Sociedad’s wonderkid Mikel Oyarzabal with Inter and Juventus both rumored to be chasing the star.
A report from Italian sports outlet CalcioMercato has claimed that Tottenham will look to bring the star, who has scored six goals in just eight La Liga matches, to England.
Oyarzabal is a tricky Spanish winger who usually plays on the left and it is no surprise to see the star linked with some of the biggest clubs in Europe having exploded into the limelight of world football this season.
The Tottenham target is yet to have been capped by the Spanish national team but has spent time playing for the U18s, U19s and U21s. We certainly wouldn’t be surprised to see him break into the first team just in time for the World Cup next year, however. He is certainly a name to look out for.
Tottenham have struggled to provide natural width in recent seasons often having to rely on their full-backs to provide overlapping runs. Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino often relies on midfielders such as Christian Eriksen to play out wide and it certainly would not hurt the North London club to have an established winger such as Oyarzabal to fulfill these duties.
