Tottenham talisman Harry Kane makes major statement on future amid Real Madrid talk

Tottenham striker Harry Kane could also make his way to Real Madrid

Tottenham striker Harry Kane has seen speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid build each passing week and it’s unlikely to stop any time soon.

The 24-year-old featured against the Spanish giants at the Bernabeu in the Champions League this week, and as per the Evening Standard, he made a positive impression on them with the Spanish media suggesting that he was moving closer to a transfer.

Spurs will undoubtedly have something to say about that as they’ll be desperate to avoid losing their talismanic forward, especially given his goalscoring record which has seen him score 94 goals in 139 appearances over the last three seasons.

He’s got 11 in 11 outings so far this year, and he appears to be going from strength to strength which makes interest from Real Madrid no real surprise.

However, he may well have just made a huge statement of his intentions moving forward, stating that he would love to be a “one-club man”.

“I’d love to be a one-club man,” he is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

“It depends on how the club goes forward and managers etc, but I’ve said I want to stay here, as we’re in a great place at the moment. The training centre is amazing, the new stadium is coming, the manager is fantastic and we’ve got a young team. So it’s great.”

Kane went on to reinforce the point further as he doesn’t appear to have any desire to leave Tottenham in the near future, and so supporters will be delighted to hear him dismiss suggestions that he could be on his way out.

If he maintains his form, it’s unlikely that interest from around Europe will disappear. However, Tottenham will have no intention of letting him go given his importance to Mauricio Pochettino’s side, while he sounds as though he’s happy to stay with the club and that could leave Madrid waiting in the wings for a while longer.

Nevertheless, should Tottenham continue to fall short of winning major trophies, then perhaps his stance and outlook on his career could change. For now though, how refreshing would it be to see the prolific forward become a one-club man, a dying breed in recent years after the likes of Ryan Giggs, Steven Gerrard and illustrious names around Europe.
