Spurs are preparing to make a new and improved offer for Lazio forward Keita Balde Diao, however Mauricio Pochettino’s side are going to face stiff competition from Italian giants Juventus for the player, according to TalkSport.
Senegalese international Diao has been trying to force a move away from the Serie A side this summer report TalkSport, with the player reportedly refusing to train with the side in order to secure a transfer away from the club.
Juventus remain the player first choice if he is to secure a move away from the Stadio Olimpico this summer write TalkSport, however the Champions League runners-up have been unwilling to match Lazio’s asking price for the player, with the Italian champions keen to sign him for a lower fee than the one Lazio are asking for.
Spurs have also been linked with making a move for Balde Diao, with TalkSport reporting that Juventus could face seriously stern competition from Pochettino’s side in the race to secure the player’s signature, with the north London club set to offer £28M for the winger within the next few days, which matches the Serie A side’s asking price for the player.
Should Spurs manage to get a deal for Balde Diao over the line before the window shuts next week, it’ll give a big boost to the London side chances of winning a trophy this season, as the signing will give Pochettino’s squad the depth they’ve been lacking these past few seasons.
