Fresh from signing Victor Lindelof from Benfica this week, Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly ready to do some more shopping at the club.
As per BBC Sport, the 22-year-old joined the Red Devils in a deal worth £31m earlier this week to become their first major summer signing, but more are certainly expected to follow.
Unfortunately for Benfica though, it’s claimed that United could return to swoop for another of their young talents, with Anderson Talisca said to be a top target for Mourinho, with the player himself discussing interest from the Portuguese tactician.
“I’ve had a good season, and Mourinho has a love [for me] that exists, I will not lie,” he is quoted as saying by The Mirror.
“It’s a dream, something that all players want. As I said, his love is old and I like his work. He’s a great coach and I hope everything works out.”
Having scored 17 goals and provided six assists in 33 appearances during his loan spell with Besiktas last season, he’s certainly coming off the back of an impressive campaign as he played a crucial role in helping them win the Turkish league title.
While moving to United would be a completely different challenge, and a much more difficult one that, it seems as though the 23-year-old Brazilian has caught the eye of Mourinho, who will have to persuade the club to part with £15m+ to prise him away from Benfica this summer.
Man Utd will continue to strengthen in the coming weeks and months ahead of next season with their return to the Champions League in mind, coupled with the pressure and expectation that they must challenge for the Premier League title next season too.
In turn, Mourinho will have to be smart with his budget and the players he brings in, but it appears as though Talisca is up for consideration this summer.
