Liverpool are set to beat Manchester United to the signature of Le Havre wonderkid Yasser Larouci, report The Sun.
The Sun report that Larouci had a trial at Southampton in December, and is now being tracked by two of the Premier League’s household names.
According to The Sun, Larouci has turned down a contract extension with Paul Pogba’s former employers, Le Havre, and is now available on a free transfer.
The tabloid believe that both Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in securing the 16-year-old’s services, but it’s Jurgen Klopp’s side who look as though they are going to win the race.
As The Sun note, Larouci’s versatility could be of great benefit to Liverpool’s academy, as he is able to play either behind the striker or on the wing.
If Liverpool do sign him, it’s unlikely that he’ll be making his first-team debut anytime soon. He is, however, one to keep an eye on for the future.
