Schneiderlin moved to United in the summer of 2015 and made 39 appearances in his debut under the stewardship of Louis Van Gaal, scoring one goal.
However, after Jose Mourinho look the reigns at Old Trafford, he fell down the pecking order and found his opportunities limited. Mourinho often opted for Paul Pogba, Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera and even Marouane Fellaini ahead of Schneiderlin – leaving his route to the starting side blocked in it’s entirety.
It appeared only to be a matter of time before he sealed his departure from the club, and today he has.
Everton have swooped in to rescue the French international from his United exile, and as OptaJoe reports on Twitter, they could well benefit greatly.
772 – Morgan Schneiderlin has made more tackles and interceptions combined (772) than any other PL player since August 2012. Influence.

His lack of game-time at Man United is not a fair reflection of his quality. He could well form a formidable partnership with Idrissa Gueye at the base of Ronald Koeman’s midfield.
