Manchester United transfer news: Jose Mourinho plots major summer spend that will be bankrolled by player sales

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is looking to raise money through player sales this month to bankroll a major summer spending spree, according to The Sun.

After a stuttering start to life under Mourinho, Man United are now firing on all cylinders. After nine consecutive victories in all competitions, they find themselves within touching distance of the top four and challenging on four fronts.

Despite their good form, it doesn’t appear as though Mourinho is totally content with his squad. As per The Sun, he is planning on splashing the cash in the summer transfer window, with Antoine Griezmann and Kostas Manolas his primary targets.

The tabloid believe that ‘The Special One’ has given the go-ahead for Morgan Schneiderlin’s £22 million move to Everton, and will also look to part with Bastian Schweinsteiger. Despite several impending departures, it does not appear likely that United will look to make any new signings this month.
