Manchester United will face competition from Inter Milan in the race to sign Roma centre-back Kostas Manolas, according to The Sun.
After a stuttering start to life under Jose Mourinho, United are now firing on all cylinders. Mourinho’s men have won eight consecutive games in all competitions and find themselves within touching distance of the top four.
Despite their good form, it doesn’t appear as though Mourinho is fully content with his United squad. As per The Sun, he is interested in adding Roma’s Manolas to his defensive ranks, and is willing to part with as much as £40 million to do so.
However, the tabloid believe that United will face stern competition from Roma’s Serie A competitors Inter Milan, who are also interested in signing the Greek international.
The Sun believe that Roma have slapped a £52 million price-tag on Manolas. It’s unclear whether Mourinho would be keen on going that eye in order to get his man.
