Manchester United’s interest in 15 year old Daishawn Redan is about to become very concrete, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

The paper reports that the Ajax youngster is at Manchester United’s Carrington training ground today looking around ahead of a proposed move.

A right footed striker, who can play across the front line, Redan has been a sensation in the Ajax youth ranks. The Dutch club have also offered him a deal, but would be powerless to stop him making the move to Manchester if that’s what he decides to do.

He wouldn’t be the first to do it – current United youth academy members Timothy Fosu Mensah and Millen Baars followed a similar course.

Redan joined Ajax at the age of 8 in 2009, and has been showering opponents in goals ever since.

Manchester United’s academy has been criticised for falling behind their cross city rivals in recent times, and further attempts to poach talented young players from abroad is hardly likely to help their quest to continue their tradition of developing local talent.
