Manchester City have sent a scout to track the progress of Ajax striker Kasper Dolberg as the Dane continues to impress in the Eredivisie this season.
The 19-year-old has scored 11 goals and provided four assists in 21 appearances in all competitions so far this season, with eight of those efforts coming in 12 league games.
In turn, it’s no surprise to see his form attract interest from around Europe and at the front of the queue are City having already sent scouts to watch him in action.
“We are keeping a very close eye on him, and when the time is right we’ll make a decision on whether we should act,” scout Sebastian Arnasen is quoted as saying by The Mirror.
“He has a huge potential. He is tall, strong, brave and quick. He has an excellent touch, can play with his back to the goal and take the right decisions.
“And he can finish anywhere in the field. He is so special, and therefore he is of course also on the radar.”
His form so far this season coupled with how high City evidently rate him suggest that Dolberg will be a star of the future as he looks to continue to impress for the Dutch giants with a possible move to the Premier League being lined up.
With Pep Guardiola undoubtedly hoping to continue to strengthen his squad in the upcoming transfer windows, particularly up front as he remains short of options in that department behind Sergio Aguero, it remains to be seen whether or not the club make their move as they will likely face stiff competition.
Nevertheless, much will depend on Dolberg and whether or not he wishes to continue his development in Amsterdam or make the switch sooner rather than later.
