Ex-Chelsea star picks six Blues legends in his all-time best XI while Zinedine Zidane and Gareth Bale make cut

Former Chelsea defender William Gallas has named his all-time best XI that he’s played alongside, and it has a theme running through it.

The 39-year-old enjoyed spells with the Blues, Arsenal and Tottenham during his time in England, while he accumulated 84 caps for France during an impressive international career.

In turn, he was fortunate enough to play alongside some of the top names in football history and was given the unenviable task of building his ultimate XI.

Given the level of success and the quality that he had by his side for Chelsea and France, it’s unsurprising that many of the selections come from those teams.

Petr Cech stands between the posts, with Lilian Thuram, John Terry and Marcel Desailly making up the back three.

Claude Makele and Patrick Vieira anchor the midfield, giving Michael Essien, Zinedine Zidane and Gareth Bale the freedom to attack behind a dangerous partnership up front of Dider Drogba and Thierry Henry.

That is some team and shows just how much quality Gallas had around him during his playing career, which ultimately led to him collecting two Premier League titles, a League Cup, runners up medal in the 2006 World Cup and countless individual accolades.

Not to mention all the memories that he would have taken away from his experiences with some real legends of the game, and there is undoubtedly plenty others who would have come into consideration when asked to make selections, as reported by The Sun.
