Evans served 30 months of a five-year prison sentence in 2012 after being originally convicted of raping a 19-year-old woman who was deemed too drunk to consent.
Throughout his time in jail, Evans maintained that he was innocent and was eventually given this retrial, which took just eight days to find him not guilty.
It will be interesting to see what the next move is by Evans, who lost a significant chunk of his life, let alone his footballing career, behind bars.
The 27-year-old managed to stay fit throughout, however, and that has helped him make a successful return to the Football League.
In seven League One games this season, Evans has scored four goals.
