Sunderland have beat Turkish giants Galatasaray to the signature of Manchester City defender Jason Denayer on a one-year loan according to Sky Sports.
Per the source, Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie was quoted as saying that the Black Cats have completed the paperwork to complete the deal and that he will be their second signing.
“Sunderland have completed their second signing of the day, this one for Jason Denayer,” said Downie.
“He arrived at the Academy of Light around an hour ago to finish off the paperwork and complete that deal after they agreed personal terms with him and the deal with Manchester City.
“He becomes their second signing of the day after Didi Ndong. But the day started with Sunderland looking for four, they are not finished yet. Sunderland could yet still add in the dying embers of this transfer window… so watch this space.”
Despite joining Manchester City in 2013 from JMG Lie, the Belgium international is yet to make a Premier League appearances for the Citizens.
Denayer has fallen down the pecking order at City and was not included in the Champions League qualifier against Steaua Bucharest in Romania and has not been used in the Premier League.
City boss Pep Guardiola did not have plans for Denayer in his team this season but the Belgium international is considered a promising young talent and was only allowed to leave on loan.
Denayer made 28 appearances for Istanbul giants Galatasaray in all competitions last season and won the Turkish Cup in his debut season.
