BBC African football specialist Oluwashina Okeleji revealed to Emre Sarigul last month that Besiktas were in talks with the Blues for over a month.
“Besiktas are in advanced talks with Chelsea but nothing has been agreed with the player,” Okeleji stated.
Besiktas and Chelsea were however, unable to reach an agreement over his buyout clause option.
The Nigeria international joined Chelsea as a youngster in 2011 but was unable to play for the Blues due to not having a work permit.
