Leicester City are plotting a £25 million move for Sevilla midfielder Steven Nzonzi according to the Telegraph.
Per the source, Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri is considering making a £25 million bid which would be a club record.
Nzonzi is no stranger to the Premier League having played for Stoke City before his move to Sevilla and Ranieri is keen on bringing in midfield reinforcements with the Champions League group stages about to kick off.
The 27-year-old midfielder does have a £25 million release clause meaning the La Liga giants would have to accept the offer if Leicester were indeed to make a bid.
The Foxes owners are reported to have sanctioned Ranieri to go ahead and push for the transfer.
Ranieri lost star midfielder Kante to Chelsea over the transfer season and despite replacing him with Nampalys Mendy, the Italian manager wants to bolster his midfield further with Nzonzi.
The Premier League champions have been keeping tabs on Nzonzi for a year ever since his £7 million exit from Stoke to Sevilla.
