Serie A in Italy kicks off in Italy this evening as defending champions Juventus take on Fiorentina in what looks a mouth watering tie from Turin (KO 19:45)
There’s good newds for fans of Italian football as Bet365 announce they are live streaming the matches through their website this evening.
Defending champions, Juventus will begin the defence of their title later this evening at home to Fiorentina.
Massimiliano Allegri’s side have been a dominant force in Italy in recent seasons and are chasing a 6th straight title. The departure of Paul Pogba, for a world record fee does not appear to have slowed the club down.
In his place has come Gonzalo Higuain. The forward’s arrival from Napoli weakening one of their rivals in the process.
Higuain is not fully up on his fitness so is likely to sit the game out meaning that Paulo Dybala will partner Mario Mandzukic up front. New signings Dani Alves and Miralem Pjanic are expected to start with another summer capture Medhi Benatia likely to have to wait for his debut on the bench.
The Old Lady will fancy their chances of an early season win. They haven’t lost in a Serie A fixture at home to Fiorentina since March 2008.
Last season’s third place side Roma are also in action on Saturday in the day’s only other game, they face Udinese. The Romans will have new signing Thomas Vermaelen in defence alongside Kostas Manolas with defender Antonio Rudiger and left back Mario Rui both out injured.
Milan kick off the action on Sunday when they face Torino. Now under the management of Vincent Montello, AC have been in decline for a number of seasons and are unlikely to mount a strong title challenge.
The capture of Gianluca Lapadula, Gustavo Gomez and Jose Sosa should see a more attacking style of football but it will take time to implement and they could be ripe for an opening day defeat to Torino.
City rivals have made some astute signings with Antonio Candreva and Ever Banega, two clever acquisitions. However the departure of Roberto Mancini on the eve of the season means that new manager Frank de Boer will have had little time to get his side up and running.
They face Chievo away in their opening match.
Elsewhere Napoli are away to Pescara, Genoa host Cagliari, Sassuolo travel to Palermo, Bologna take on Crotone and Lazio face Atlanta.
