Liverpool have put a stop to Christian Benteke’s loan move to Besiktas as the Premier League giants are keen on recouping as much of the £32 million spent on him.
The news comes despite the Belgium international agreeing personal terms with Besiktas.
Benteke’s agent Eris Kismet told Caught-Offside’s Eren Sarigul that Besiktas had struck a deal with the 25-year-old striker that would have seen him receive £3.91 million. However, Liverpool are keen to sell Benteke and recoup the £32 million they spent on him when they signed him from Aston Villa last summer.
Meanwhile, ESPN state that Benteke is the subject of multiple bids from Crystal Palace.
Liverpool want to sell Benteke and head coach Jurgen Klopp has made it clear he has no plans for him next season after dropping him from the team that beat Arsenal 4-3.
Benteke provided six assists and scored ten goals in 42 appearances for Liverpool last season.
