West Ham welcome back star player ahead of clash against former club Chelsea

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic’s injury problems have eased going into the London derby against Chelsea on Monday 16 August in their opening Premier League game of the season.

Bilic will also have recently transfers Andre Ayew and Arthur Masuaku available after the duo joined last week.

Summer loanee Gokhan Tore has returned to team training after recovering from a knee injury which saw him miss the Europa League qualifiers against Domzale.

Tore returned to team training on Wednesday and is expected to be in the match day squad going into the Chelsea clash.

The Turkish international winger joined the Hammers on a one-year loan for a £2.5 million fee and has a £10 million buyout clause option.

If the 24-year-old does feature he will make his official debut against the team he first made a name for himself at. Tore was of course a Chelsea academy player after joining the club aged 17 from Germany.

The East London based outfit will also welcome back Cheikhou Kouyate, Pedro Obiang and Darren Randolph who did not feature in the recent pre-season friendly against Italian giants Juventus.

Bilic will also have Dimitri Payet available but he is unlikely to start due to lacking match fitness.
