Arsenal are targeting a move for Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann according to the Daily Star.
The report claims the Gunners could face competition from Everton to sign the 29-year-old defender who still has another four-years remaining on his current contract.
The Toffees are looking for a replacement for John Stones who looks set to join Manchester City.
Dann signed a new contract last summer and Palace are reported to be keen on keeping him on over the summer.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is desperate to find cover for Per Mertesacker who has been ruled out for several months after suffering an injury blow during training according to the Guardian.
Per the source Wenger confirmed that the Germany international defender will be out of action for a few months after suffering a knee injury.
The experienced defender suffered a problem during the clash against Lens last Friday and was left out of the pre-season US tour as a result.
