Man Utd boss Mourinho targets £16.8m midfielder who contributed to 18 goals last season

Oguzhan Ozyakup is being linked with a transfer back to Arsenal

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is targeting a move Besiktas star midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup according to the Daily Star [via Deporte Valenciano].

The report claims that Mourinho has been impressed with the 23-year-old midfielder and that the Red Devils are plotting move for the Turkish international.

Per the source, Besiktas value Ozyakup as being worth £16.8 million and he does have another two-years remaining on his current contract.

Ozyakup is no stranger to Premier League football having first made a name for himself rising through the youth ranks of Arsenal before joining Besiktas in 2012.

The central midfielder is also being targeted by his former club according to report as well as Valencia who are keen on replacing Andre Gomes – who was snapped up by Barcelona.

Ozyakup played a key role in Besiktas winning the league title and booking a place in the Champions League group stage next season.

The Netherlands born midfielder contributed to a total of 18 goals in all competitions – 10 goals and eight assists.
