The Turkish Super League giants Galatasaray are keen to push ahead with the transfer of Lucas Leiva despite the 29-year-old suffering a knee injury during a pre-season friendly.
According to the Turkish outlet Fotomac, Galatasaray are want negotiate a lower loan fee following the Brazil international’s injury. Meanwhile, the Liverpool Echo states that Lucas is sidelined for month. Lucas suffered an injury during the 2-0 victory over Huddersfield last week.
The Turkish giants have been after a new defensive midfielder ever since Felipe Melo joined Inter Milan on transfer deadline day last summer. The Istanbul giants will be able to fully focus on the league campaign next season as they have been issued a one-year European competition from from UEFA for failing to meet FFP regulations.
Lucas has one assist in 40 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool last season.
