Leicester City’s star midfielder Riyad Mahyez has made a decision regarding his future at the Premier League champions according to The Sun.
The report states that Mahrez – named PFA Player of the Year last season – is keen on a move to Arsenal this summer. The Sun goes onto say Mahrez’s agent Kamel Bengougam was present at Arsenal’s friendly encounter with the French side Lens.
However, Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri recently issued a hands off warning to clubs chasing after the Algeria international.
“It is over, the market is closed here. Mahrez wants to stay,” Ranieri was quoted as saying by the Sun.
The 25-year-old winder joked Leicester City for just $400,000 from Le Havre back in 2014. Mahrez played a key role in Leicester’s title winning season scoring 17 goals on the way.
Mahrez’s teammate Jamie Vardy turned down the Gunners earlier this summer after Arsenal triggered the England international striker’s release clause according to Sky Sports.
