Aston Villa owner Tony Xia has responded to speculation linking Jordan Amavi with an exit from the club this summer with Liverpool said to be keen.
As noted by the Birmingham Mail, the French ace has been attracting interest from Jurgen Klopp this summer as the Liverpool boss looks to continue to bolster his squad.
However, Xia has delivered an emphatic answer to a Villa supporter’s request to keep the 22-year-old, insisting that he will not be leaving the club this summer, and neither will forward Jordan Ayew.
Ayew and Amavi will definitely stay! We’ll get striker but be confident with the manager team knowing what to do! https://t.co/GuNrblYukc

Amavi arrived at Villa Park last summer, and was an instant hit with the club’s supporters with his displays at left-back.
Having proven to be one of the more successful acquisitions 12 months ago, it was a huge blow for the club to see him ruled out for most of the season after suffering a serious knee injury while on international duty with the French Under-21 side.
As he continues his comeback and return to full fitness, he has been relishing the challenge ahead in terms of playing his part in ensuring Villa secure immediate promotion back to the Premier League, but a move to Anfield would certainly be appealing.
Nevertheless, it doesn’t appear as though he’ll be going anywhere ahead of the new campaign, with Xia insisting that he firmly plans on keeping him and will look to continue to invest in the squad moving forward.
It will be a blow to Klopp as he has also missed out on Leicester City starlet Ben Chilwell who is expected to sign a new deal with the Foxes, and it will certainly be further frustration in his bid to address the left-back position.
