Chelsea are apparently determined to bring Alvaro Morata to Stamford Bridge this summer, but it seems they are going to have to spend a small fortune in order to land the former Juventus star. Reports from Spain suggest the Blues have already lodged a €75m (£63m) bid for the 23-year-old, but Real Madrid have rejected their offer, according to Cadena Ser.
Chelsea are clearly looking to boost their numbers up front ahead of the new season, as Diego Costa is currently their only real option. Loic Remy looks like he could potentially be sold this summer (via the Daily Star), and there have even been reports that Costa could be on his way back to Atletico Madrid (via ESPN). Chelsea need a new striker regardless, and Morata seems to be the player they are determined to land.
Madrid utilised the buy-back clause inserted into Morata’s contract in order to bring him back to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, with many believing it was simply to sell him on for a profit.
If they really are turning down offers of €75m they clearly aren’t just looking for a quick profit though, and instead it seems they are hoping to keep him at the club.
Cadena’s report suggests the Spaniard is looking for assurances he’ll get regular game time next season – something he wasn’t always getting before he made the move to Juve.

It’s unclear whether he’d even get that at Chelsea in all honesty, but if he does want a switch to Stamford Bridge then new boss Antonio Conte will have to fork out a huge amount of money to land him.
