Stoke City became the latest Premier League outfit to get linked with Fenerbahce striker Robin van Persie.
The Mirror report that Stoke boss Mark Hughes wants Van Persie and claim that the Dutch international wants to leave the Istanbul giants.
A source close to the club told Emre Sarigul that Fenerbahce do not want to sell Van Persie and that he is expected to stay in Turkey over the summer.
Van Persie is on high wages and does have another two-years remaining on his current contract.
Fenerbahce are expected to keep hold of Van Persie, Fernandao and Emenike – who played on loan for West Ham next season – as their three strikers next season.
The 32-year-old striker has years of experience playing in the Premier League having enjoyed stints at both Arsenal and Manchester United.
Middlesbrough are also reported to be interested in signing the experienced striker according to the Sun and several other Premier League outfits have also been linked.
