Chelsea centre-back Kenneth Omeruo has ben dropped from the pre-season squad that travelled to Austria according to the official club website.
The Nigerian international defender had been training with the squad at the Cobham training grounds but has been left out of the travelling squad.
A source close to the club told Caught Offside’s Emre Sarigul that the 22-year-old will undergo a medical with the Istanbul giants this week and that the transfer is close to completion.
The 22-year-old defender is no stranger to football in Turkey having spent last season on loan at Istanbul minnows Kasimpasa.
Besiktas would be the most high profile club Omeruo has been loaned to should he complete the move as is expected. The Turkish Super Lig champions will play Champions League football next season.
