Hull boss wants Wales international also targeted by Everton

Hull boss Steven Bruce has stated that he wants to sign Wales international Hal Robson-Kanu and revealed that the club are scheduled for talks with the forward over the next couple of days according to ESPN.

Bruce, quoted by the ESPN [Via the BBC] said of Robson-Kanu: “We are booked in for talks with him and to see him in the next few days. Do we intend to offer him a deal? Yes.”

Bruce did however, underline that they are not the only club interested in Kanu but that they will try to sign the Welsh star.

“I think Hal is a good age, has had a sort of rebirth if you like, of playing through the middle, because before that he has played wide most of the time,” he added.

“He is big, strong, powerful, quick and somebody who runs the other way, in football terms.

“I know we have got competition, so let’s see what we can do.”

Hull could face competition from the Premier League as Everton have also been closely linked according to  The Sun.

Kanu is currently a free agent after leaving Reading but rose to prominence over the European Championships this summer helping guide Wales to the semi-finals.

The 27-year-old scored twice in France including a candidate for goal of the tournament against Belgium in the Last-eight tie. His first goal was scored in the 2-1 victory over Slovakia in the group stages.

Wales ended up beating Belgium against all the odds and booking place in the semi-final where they were defeated 2-0 against eventual winners Portugal.

The powerful forward provided seven assists and five goals in 35 appearances for Reading in all competitions last season.
