Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas wants to stay in England next summer despite offers from across Europe his agent revealed to Emre Sarigul.
Stars & Friends – Kalas’ management company – agent Mithat Halis said: “Kalas wants to stay in England next season, preferably the Premier League. He is happy at Chelsea but Middlesbrough are interested.”
Kalas enjoyed a successful spell in the Championship last season for Middlesbrough who were promoted to the Premier League last season.
The 23-year-old midfielder has played regularly for Boro over the past 16 months making a total of 47 appearances for Aitor Karanka’s side.
The Czech Republic international has already revealed that he would be keen on staying at Boro for another season if an offer was made.
In a recent interview published on the Gazette Live he said: “I don’t know how many games I’ve played since I came, probably around 40, which is not bad in one and a half years.
“That’s why I came here, to play games, and hopefully I’ll keep playing next season – maybe here.
“If I could get the deal (to move to Boro permanently) I would really think about it. Yes, why not!”
Recently appointed Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has yet to reveal his plans for Kalas next season.
Kalas did sign a new three-year deal with Chelsea last season but has made just two starts for the Blues since joining from Sigma Olomou in 2011.
The young defender was not picked for the Czech Republic’s Euro 2016 squad and has a total of three international caps since making his debut for the national team in 2012.
