Netherlands international midfielder Siem de Jong faces an uncertain future at Newcastle United. De Jong is set to hold talks with Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez in the near future regarding his role at the club going forward.
De Jong’s agent Louis Laros has told Caught Offside’s Eren Sarigul De Jong will consider his options and make a decision on his future following talks with the club.
The news comes amid a report from Newcastle based Chronicle which linked Fenerbahce with a move for the Netherlands international. De Jong has made just four starts in the Premier League for Newcastle since signing from Ajax back in 2014.
According to the Daily Star Benitez is expected to overhaul his squad over the summer transfer window as the club look to make a swift return to the Premier League.
De Jong provided one assist and scored one goal in 23 appearances for The Magpies in all competitions last season. However, the Netherlands international wasn’t given a single start in the final 10 matches under Benitez.
