Italian international Emanuele Giaccherini has revealed that he dreams of a reunion with former national team manager Antonion Conte at Chelsea according to the La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Sunderland midfielder spent last season on loan at Bologna in the Serie A and is closely linked with a permanent move to Torino.
Giaccherini starred for Italy over the European Championships under the stewardship of Conte and his agent Furio Valcareggi revealed that his client dreams of being reunited with his former manager.
Valcareggi does however, state that it seems more likely that Giaccherini will join Torino instead of Chelsea.
“Do we have an agreement with the Granata? Not at this time,” agent Furio Valcareggi stated. “There has been contact made and there is interest.
“Torino inquired about the costs and requirements of a possible deal, now we are both reflecting. But it is the same for Fiorentina and Bologna, who are assessing the situation before moving forward. Chelsea remain a dream.”
Chelsea have however, not made a move for the Italian international and the Blues boss is not believed to be interested in the midfielder.
Giaccherini joined Sunderland in July 2013 but struggled to lock down a regular first team role in the team.
The 31-year-old midfielder scored and provided an assists for Conte’s Italy side in Euro 2016 over the course of four games.
