Newcastle midfielder Siem de Jong could be on his way out of the club after two unhappy and injury-ravaged years on Tyneside.
The Newcastle based Chronicle paper has recently reported that Fenerbahce are interested in signing the Netherlands international.
However Siem de Jong’s agent Louis Laros has told Caught Offside’s Eren Sarigul that his clint that he has has no contact with the Turkish club and that De Jong wants to remain at Newcastle.
The 27-year-old has made just four starts in the Premier League for Newcastle since signing from Ajax back in 2014.
The Chronicle go onto state that De Jong is keeping his options open for the future.
“I think about everything. If the club says I may be sold or rented out, I look at all the possibilities,” De Jong is quoted as saying by the Chronicle.
“I’d rather not return to Holland just yet, although Ajax is always an option. I want to play again, get into a rhythm. It will not be easy for me. I hope for a good solution.”
De Jong provided one assist and scored one goal in 23 appearances for Newcastle in all competitions last season. However, the Netherlands international wasn’t given a single start in the final 10 matches under Rafa Benitez.
