Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas is keen on a return to Middlesbrough next season his agent revealed to Emre Sarigul.
Stars & Friends – Kalas’ management company – agent Mithat Halis said: “Middlesbrough are interested, will it happen? we will see.”
Kalas spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough enjoying a successful league campaign for the Championship side that narrowly ensure promotion to the Premier League.
The 23-year-old midfielder did hint that he would be happy to stay at Boro for another season in a interview published on the Gazette Live.
“I don’t know how many games I’ve played since I came, probably around 40, which is not bad in one and a half years,” Kalas said.
“That’s why I came here, to play games, and hopefully I’ll keep playing next season – maybe here.
“If I could get the deal (to move to Boro permanently) I would really think about it. Yes, why not!”
Kalas has spent the last 16 months at Boro and has made 47 appearances for Aitor Karaoke’s side.
The Czech Republic international signed a new three-year contract with Chelsea last season but has made just two starts for the Blues.
Kalas joined the Blues from Sigma Olomou back in 2011 but has struggled for playing time at the Blues.
The 23-year-old missed the Czech Republic’s Euro 2016 campaign and has just three international caps since making his debut for his national team back in 2012.
