Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi appears primed to make a move to London, but in a strange twist he is poised to sign with Chelsea.
According to Goal, Chelsea are expected to complete a €40 million deal for Batshuayi, which would make him the first big signing for the club under new manager Antonio Conte.
Per the source, Batshuayi turned down an offer from Crystal Palace before agreeing to the move to Stamford Bridge.
The Guardian reported that Batshuayi will be undergoing a medical with Chelsea on Wednesday before signing a five-year deal with the club.
The Marseille striker scored 17 goals this past season – tied for fourth in Ligue 1. He also recorded nine assists – also tied for fourth in the French league.
Batshuayi also set a new career high for appearances in one campaign with 50 across all competitions in Ligue 1, Europa League, Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue.
On the international level, Batshuayi has been capped six times for Belgium and has scored three times – including the second of four goals the team scored in a 4-0 win over Hungary in the Euro 2016 knockout round.
