Manchester United icon Paul Scholes to come out of retirement in India

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes is reportedly coming out of retirement to play in India!

The Daily Mail understands that the former England midfielder, considered one of the most gifted players of his generation, will play in Premier Futsal, a new Indian indoor football league.

Scholes has been announced as one of the league’s star names alongside former Chelsea and Barcelona player Deco, whose Portuguese compatriot Luis Figo has been made president of the league.

Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, one of the most recognisable faces in the country, has been named as the brand ambassador to raise awareness of the five-a-side league, which will begin on July 15 to July 24.

According to the Daily Mail, the competition is expected to be played across eight cities, including Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi. So it is basically a five-a-side version of cricket’s IPL!

Scholes originally hung up his boots in 2011, before making a comeback six months later and playing for the Red Devils until the end of the 2012-13 season, when he won his 11th Premier League title.

And now it seems that the 41-year-old is going to be tempted into putting on his boots again!
