Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has insisted that he is confident the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Kalidou Koulibaly will remain at the club.
Along with Marek Hamsik, the Napoli trio have been subject to speculation regarding their respective futures in recent weeks.
While the Serie A giants will be focused on strengthening rather than losing their key players after finishing second in the standings last season, De Laurentiis is adamant that they will all remain, including Higuain who has been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer with Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea are supposedly keen.
“How nice to see him [Higuain] scoring and celebrating as if he’s wearing the Napoli shirt,” De Laurentiis said on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“He’s a champion, because he plays for the pleasure of scoring goals, a real striker who should be respected. If his words are sincere, he’ll play for Napoli for at least the next five years.
“I’m ready to extend his contract, I’m so fond of him as a man and as a player. I want Pipita to stay at Napoli forever.”
Meanwhile, it was a similar sentiment for both Koulibaly and Hamsik, with the pair linked with moves to Chelsea and Manchester United respectively.
Both were instrumental for Napoli last season, although Antonio Conte is believed to want to strengthen his defence at Stamford Bridge with Koulibaly coming in, while Hamsik has attracted further attention following his displays at Euro 2016 so far.
“His [Hamsik] agent has asked for a touch-up in his wages, but as a club we have a duty to respect the budget we decided on early in the season,” he added. “At the moment I don’t want to distract Marek from his commitments with the [Slovakian] national team, so I’d tell him to stay calm.
“I have never argued with Koulibaly, he broke contractual commitments and the lawyers will take care of that. He will remain with us another three years, if he wants to renew for two more we will sit down and talk about it.”
