£20m Leicester City star now wanted by Everton as Tim Howard replacement

Riyad Mahrez won the 2015/16 Premier League with Leicester City

Everton may never have another goalkeeper like the recently departed Tim Howard, but Leicester City star Kasper Schmeichel might do a pretty good job of filling that void with the way he’s played this past year.

According to The Sun, Everton are lining up a £20 million swoop for the Danish super-stopper as a replacement for Howard. Schmeichel finished tied with the second most clean sheets in the league – shutting out opponents on 15 occasions. He was vital in helping Leicester City field the third-best scoring defense in the Premier League en route to their miracle title win.

The 29-year-old goalkeeper has made 200 appearances for Leicester City between the Championship and the Premier League since joining in 2011 – missing only 14 starts in their nail-biting 2014-15 campaign.

Everton are eager to find a player who can replace club legend Tim Howard, who finally decided to return to the United States after ten years with the Toffees. Per the source, Everton’s new management are eager to make a major splash in the transfer market this summer.
