Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing Cristian Tello this summer, with the Spaniard unlikely to remain at Barcelona ahead of next season.
The 24-year-old joined Fiorentina in a loan deal with an option to buy in January, and performed well for the Viola as he registered two goals and five assists in 15 Serie A appearances.
Having previously spent time out on loan at Porto, his time in Florence was a positive period for his career and he will naturally now hope to build on that momentum.
Whether or not that was enough to convince the club to sign him outright remains to be seen though, although Barca do have an option to bring him back and in turn could sell him on for a bigger profit than what Fiorentina can offer.
According to Sport, that has alerted Liverpool who have again been linked with the winger, with Jurgen Klopp said to be a keen admirer having previously tried to sign him during his time as Dortmund manager.
Tello has a contract with the Catalan giants until June 2018 with a release clause of €25m, and so at this early stage, it’s unclear as to whether or not they will only be interested in offers that activate that clause.
This isn’t the first time that Liverpool have been linked with the player, but despite scoring 20 goals in 80 official matches for Barcelona, it appears as though his future doesn’t lie at the Nou Camp.
Klopp has been busy in the transfer market already this summer, and he certainly remains keen on further strengthening his squad ahead of an important season for both him and the club next year.
