Barcelona have secured the future of Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos on a long-term deal according to reports in Spain.

Sport report that there was a transfer summit in Milan last weekend—coinciding with the Champions League final—which could well have been decisive with Barca appearing to secure the future of the Brazil international.

Not only do the Catalan giants appear to have their man, but they also look to have secured the future of the defender on a five-year contract.

The 22-year-old has long looked like the future of PSG, but appears to have grown frustrated with having to wait for his opportunity in Laurent Blanc’s starting XI.

The French coach has preferred to partner Marquinhos’ fellow Brazilians David Luiz and Thiago Silva in the heart of the backline, leaving the youngster to fight for scraps or to deputise for either Serge Aurier or Gregory van der Wiel at right-back.
