Ajax youngster Riechedly Bazoer is coming off a superb season for the Dutch club and a career-high in both appearances and goals. He has been sought after by a litany of European clubs – including Arsenal. But the Champions League mainstays could miss out on the young midfielder to a bitter rival undergoing an incredible youth movement of their own.
According to the Express, Tottenham Hotspur are heavily scouting Bazoer by sending manager Mauricio Pochettino, as well as two of his highest-ranking staff members to his most recent fixture. The 19-year-old Bazoer was capped again for the Oranje in a match against the Republic of Ireland several days ago and is the youngest player on the team. Per the source, Bazoer is rated at £15.5 million.
Bazoer rejected a Premier League move as an academy prospect in 2012, opting to join Ajax on a free transfer from PAV Eindhoven. This past season he scored five goals in 29 Eredivisie appearances.
