Update on Ryan Giggs’ future at Manchester United in light of Mourinho arrival

Ryan Giggs has criticised some Manchester United transfers under Louis van Gaal

According to The Sun, Jose Mourinho is expecting Ryan Giggs to leave Manchester United when he arrives at the club.

While Louis van Gaal won the FA Cup after beating Crystal Palace in extra time this weekend, the Dutch coach appears to be set for the Old Trafford door, with Mourinho looking primed to replace him with the fallen giants of the north west.

According to the tabloid, Mourinho is already considering the makeup of his coaching staff at the club, and is planning to offer Giggs a role within his team, a decision which would likely go down well with the club’s hierarchy.

However, the source note that the United legend would be allowed to decide whether he stays at the club, with the former Chelsea manager not expecting the Welshman to stick around.

Indeed, Mourinho is understood to believe that Giggs’ own priority is to launch his own managerial career as a No. 1 and looks set to break out on his own.
