Barcelona star Luis Suarez was caught crying his eyes out during the final of the Copa del Rey after an injury may have ruined his hopes of featuring in the Copa America this summer.
The Barcelona forward—who was arguably the Liga BBVA’s outstanding individual during the 2015-16 season—was replaced during the second half of the Catalan giants’ final triumph over Sevilla on Sunday evening.
Footage shows Suarez—who limped off in some discomfort in the 57th minute—in great distress and needing to be consoled by his teammates and the Barca staff.
While Barca went on to win the final 2-0, Suarez’s injury—which appeared to be a hamstring problem, threatens to rule the forward out of this summer’s Copa America with Uruguay, set to be staged in the United States.
