Liverpool are on the brink of completing £20 million deal to sign Bayern Munich playmaker Mario Gotze.
According to The Sun, the Reds are looking to tie up their summer transfer business as soon as possible as Jurgen Klopp reconfigures the Merseysiders’ squad.
The tabloid note that a deal to bring the Germany international and World Cup winner to Anfield could be completed in the coming days, a move which would represent a major statement of intent for the defeated Europa League finalists.
Klopp worked with 23-year-old Gotze during some of his formative years at Borussia Dortmund, helping to attune the forward’s talents before his high-profile switch to Bayern.
While Gotze looks set to be on the plane for the European Championships this summer, he is coming off the back of a disappointing season under Pep Guardiola at the Allianz Arena.
