Their maths was right, to be fair…
Manchester United must win against Bournemouth this evening to avoid setting an unwanted club record.
The Red Devils started their final fixture of the league season with 63 points, which is one short of their lowest ever Prem total – set back in the 2013-14 campaign.
If they draw with Bournemouth, they will again finish with 64 points, but their goal difference will be much worse than it was two years ago.
United’s goal difference at the start of the day was just +12, compared to their +21 GD in 2013-14.
