In a season for Chelsea where so many high expectations have been shattered by poor play and otherwise strange occurrences, it seems almost fitting that John Terry won’t even be allowed on the pitch for what will likely be his final game as a member of the Blues.
After receiving a red card in stoppage time during Chelsea’s 3-2 loss to Sunderland, John Terry is set to miss the Blues’ season finale at home against Premier League champions Leicester City. Terry has made it public that this will be his final season at Stamford Bridge after failing to agree to a new contract with the team several months ago.
Furious that they won’t get to see their legendary defender play in his own finale at the Bridge, Chelsea fans took to Twitter to demand that the team give Terry another year so they can see him play one last time.
There have been no indications from Terry that he has participated in any contract talks since making his departure announcement earlier this season. Interest in the Chelsea legend has come from Qatar, China and MLS.
