Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League title hopes were put to bed by bitter rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last night, but Spurs did not go down with a whimper.
In what was one of the spiciest London derbies in recent memory, Tottenham had a Premier League record NINE players shown yellow cards in the hostile 2-2 draw.

Somehow, referee Mark Clattenburg kept his red card in his pocket. Eric Dier was probably the biggest victim of pushing his luck with a series of thumping tackles.
As Tottenham sensed that their title hopes were slipping away, the tough-as-nails England midfielder decided that he was going to take a few Chelsea players with him.
This video of Dier taking out Oscar, Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas in the closing stages will help soothe the pain of those Spurs fans still reeling from last night’s result.

It appears as though Hazard and Fabregas may have been specifically targeted following their pre-match comments about denying Tottenham the title, as The Telegraph reports.
Dier’s tenacious nature has made him a favourite with Spurs supporters, who proudly sing: “I love Eric Dier, Eric Dier loves me.” He will be as popular as ever after this.
Tottenham may have lost their heads in what is being dubbed the ‘Battle of the Bridge’, but they certainly proved that they are no longer intimidated by their London rivals.
