Coach of potential Leicester UCL rivals sends word to Ranieri ahead of Manchester United showdown

Speaking to the media ahead of Juventus‘ trip to Carpi on Sunday, Massimiliano Allegri has taken a moment to offer some words of encouragement to Leicester City.

The Foxes travel to Manchester United on Sunday knowing that a victory would secure their first-ever Premier League title following a truly miraculous campaign. Ironically, the division’s unlikeliest champions could claim the title at the home of the league’s most successful-ever side.

Asked by the media about Leicester’s remarkable feat, Allegri offered some words of encouragement for coach Claudio Ranieri.

“I give him a massive ‘good luck’,” the Juve manager told journalists, as relayed by Goal.

Impossible as it may have seemed at the beginning of the season, Leicester and Juventus will be two sides rubbing shoulders in the Champions League next season.

The East Midlanders have already secured their spot at next year’s continental high table, while Juve will also be there having secured their record-breaking consecutive fifth Serie A title.

Should the two sides meet—either in the group stage or beyond—the Old Lady of Italian football would surely be the overwhelming favourites considering their European pedigree, having won the title twice—in 1985 and 1996.

However, considering their astonishing run this season—the would-be relegation strugglers have lost just three matches in the Premier League—few would rule out the prospect that Leicester could make an impact next season.
