The Gunners may have to look elsewhere for a new central midfielder as one of their hopeful targets for the summer has snubbed the club. Marseilles midfielder Mario Lemina, who enjoyed a successful loan spell with Serie A champions Juventus this season, has decided to his move out of France permanent – but the Gabon star won’t be heading to Arsene Wenger’s side.
According to the Daily Star, Juventus are set to sign Lemina to a permanent deal worth £8.2 million after transfer fees and added fees. The 22-year-old midfielder scored twice in nine games for Juventus this season after joining the club in September.
Last season Lemina scored twice for Marseille in 22 appearances and earned significant reps for the Ligue 1 giants in the Champions League.
Though he helped the France Under-20 team win the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2013, Lemina decided to represent his native Gabon, and scored a goal against Tunisia this past October in his first action for the team.
