Jurgen Klinsmann denies links to Premier League job, supports embattled manager

Everton manager Roberto Martinez could very well be on his way out of Goodison Park at the end of the season, but USMNT manager Jurgen Klinsmann will not be man replacing him.

Following a report that Klinsmann was being vetted as the manager of the struggling Premier League giants, ESPN soccer columnist Jeff Carlisle reported that the Toffees had not reached out to the US Soccer Federation at all regarding Klinsmann.

Klinsmann has struggled to get marquee wins for the USMNT ever since the 2014 FIFA World Cup ended, finishing fourth in the CONCACAF Gold Cup before losing to arch-rival Mexico in the CONCACAF Cup. The 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers have arguably been more disappointing, as the US have drawn with Trinidad & Tobago and lost to Guatemala, putting their World Cup hopes in jeopardy.
